A female student was sexually assaulted during an attempted robbery on Eastern Kentucky University’s campus Tuesday night, the school’s police department said Wednesday.

The student, who officials have not identified, reported that two unknown males assaulted her at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday on the east side of the Meditation Chapel near the Wallace Building. The student said the two men tried to grab her purse, demanded money and sexually assaulted her. The attackers then fled.

EKU police are investigating. There have been no arrests.
