Woman wounded in Lexington shooting

Lexington police are investigating a shooting that left a woman with a leg wound early Friday morning.
Police said the shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. in front of an apartment house on West Sixth Street.
Information was sketchy Friday morning, but police said an altercation apparently broke out among people standing in front of the building. Shots were fired.
The victim was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital.
Officers said witnesses told them the shooter fled in a white sport-utility vehicle.
