Richmond Crimes of the Day
The following crimes were reported to the Richmond Police Department between Monday and Wednesday:
Forgery: On 11/17/2008, a Stanton resident reported that two checks previously stolen from him had been cashed at Central Bank in Richmond. The checks were in the amounts of $360.00 and $450.00. A suspect was identified and charges are pending.
Shoplifting: On 11/18/2008, police charged Christina A. Cathers, age 19, Richmond, for Theft by Unlawful Taking under $300 after she was detained by Hastings’ employees for shoplifting approximately $118.00 worth of merchandise from the store.
Burglary of Business: On 11/18/2008, the Strauss Family Medical Offices at 210 Geri Lance reported a burglary that occurred during the overnight hours. Entry was gained through an unlocked window on the ground level. An HP Pavilion dv900 laptop computer, valued at $900.00, and a bottle of medication was stolen from the business. Investigation is ongoing.
Theft of Auto: On 11/19/2008, an employee of Arby’s on Lexington Road reported that her vehicle was stolen from the parking lot while she was working. The theft occurred between 4:00 and 11:00 P.M. on 11/18/2008. The vehicle was left unsecured with the keys inside. The stolen vehicle was described as a 1997 Dodge Intrepid, turquoise in color, with a dent in the right front fender. Total loss: $1500.00
