Richmond Crimes of the Day, Jan. 13-15
The following is a list of crimes reported to the Richmond Police Department from Jan. 13 to Jan. 15.
Theft from Vehicle: On 01/13/2009, a resident of am apartment in the 400 block of Mt.Rushmore Drive reported the theft of an in-dash CD player from his parked and unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours. Estimated loss: $100.00
Theft: On 01/13/2009, a patron of the Telford YMCA reported the theft of a black Apple iPod touch from his unlocked day locker while he was at swim practice at the center. Estimated loss: $250.00
Theft from Residence: On 01/14/2009, a resident of an apartment in the 200 block of N. Madison Avenue reported the theft of two cameras from his residence. The victim stated that he had guests at his residence during the afternoon and early evening hours. After the guests departed, the victim discovered that the cameras were missing. The cameras were described as a Kodak model 613 digital and a Sony video camera. Estimated loss: $525.00
Arrest: On 01/15/2009, police arrested Jeffery D. White, Jr., age 26, E. Irvine Street, after he intentionally caused a traffic accident. At approximately 1:59 A.M., Corporal Tim Craft was following a vehicle on N. Third Street being operated by White’s girlfriend. White was a passenger in the car and the officer observed that the two appeared to be arguing. Suddenly, White grabbed the steering wheel of the vehicle and pulled it sharply to the right, causing the vehicle to collide with a pared car in the 300 block of N. Third Street.
White was charged for Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree and lodged in the MCDC.
